At the start of this year, I set myself the goal of becoming a Member of the Association of Heritage Interpretation, adding a little external validation to my marketing.
Ever since launching Rural Strides, I’ve suffered from the occasional bout of imposter syndrome. While I’m a qualified walk leader with various degrees to my name, many people leading informative walks do so as part of their day jobs as rangers, curators & the like. I’m more of a jack of all trades who enjoys taking seemingly ordinary subjects & uncovering the stories that make them interesting. The fact that you’re reading this suggests I’ve had some success, but I felt it was time for that skill to be recognised externally too.
The accreditation process is evidence-based rather than by exam, & looks at three areas: planning, delivery & evaluation. To help with that final element, I’d be hugely grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete this questionnaire. All feedback is entirely anonymous, so there’s no danger of finding yourself mysteriously relegated to the bottom of the waiting list forever more! Many thanks.
