Navigation Courses

Does the fear of getting lost either stop you going out for a walk or mean you cling to familiar routes, never daring to go off the beaten track in search of adventure? Whether you plan on wondering the streets of Florence or would like to explore more of your own back yard, some basic map-reading and navigation skills can make the difference between it being a stressful or enjoyable experience.

“Bless us! Bless us and save us! We’ve lost the way.”

A Room with a View

If you would like to improve your map reading, navigation or just general spatial awareness why not join a “Lost and Found” session. These are small group walks that focus on you learning important, simple navigation skills through practical application. In this situation, there is no such thing as a wrong turn…every navigational decision can have a positive learning outcome!

Sessions will:

  • Be for small groups (between 2-6 people)
  • Not be too technical….these are aimed at confidence building;
  • Vary in duration (between 2-4 hours) depending on the focus/outcome; &
  • Be fun!

Course dates and booking details can be found below.

“I took part in a 4 mile walk with the aim of learning about navigation and map reading. It was extremely useful with navigation aids pointed out (who knew pylons could be so useful). Malinka is very knowledgeable and patient and I certainly feel more comfortable with striding out and not getting lost.”
