Come wander with me into the woods this April. The forest floor will be painted purple by a sea of delicate bluebells, each bloom a bright sign of spring’s return. The air will carry the fresh scent of new growth, the sound of birdsong, and the earthy smell of woodsmoke from a fire. We’ll gather around it for warmth and sip freshly brewed tea or coffee. This walk celebrates the season, where nature’s renewal meets the simple joy of sharing time around a fire in the beauty of the world coming alive.
This easy circular walk starts in the charming village of Ropley. Our route will weave around the historic tracks of the Watercress Line, timing our afternoon tea perfectly with a visit to ancient woodland.
Don’t forget…
Bring a mug… and your passport! This walk takes us beyond the Western Weald and across the northern boundary of the South Downs National Park. If you like something sweet with your tea or coffee, we have toasted marshmallows. Or, feel free to bring along bananas, flakes, or any campfire treat you want to make. Let’s make this walk both beautiful and delicious!

Malinka’s walk was very well organised and very informative. Will definitely go on more Rural Strides walks in the future.
